The meeting held at Singha Durbar decided to make necessary arrangements for staff and other logistic needs at both the embassies, according to Minister for Information and Communications Madhav Poudel. [break]The Bhattarai-led government in February had decided to set up residential embassies in these countries.
Also, the meeting took a decision to establish a consular office in Guangzhou of China. With the decision, the number of Nepali embassies and consul general´s offices abroad has reached 31 and three respectively.
According to the Department of Foreign Employment (DOFE), a total of 33,076 Nepali workers have reached Bahrain and 17,083 Oman through official channels since 1994. The decision to establish embassies in Oman and Bahrain comes in line with the policy of MoFA to set up residential missions in countries employing more than 5,000 Nepali migrant workers.
The cabinet meeting also decided to form a team to hold talks with Asian Development Bank (ADB) for a loan assistance of Rs 6.54 billion for road expansion projects.

The cabinet meeting on Thursday also decided to discuss election date with political parties at Dr Harka Gurung Hall in Singha Durbar at 9:00 am on Friday. Minister Poudel said the government had already sent invitations to the parties to attend the meeting.
