Govt to compensate people for delay in service delivery

KATHMANDU, April 15: Service seekers, who suffer from intentional delay in service delivery by government employees, can now claim compensation up to Rs 5,000.



The citizen charters issued by five government departments and offices under them promise compensation of Rs 250 to Rs 5,000 to people who have suffered from intentional delay in service delivery by the employees. [break]



The charter was issued in the initiation of the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPCM). The charter has been enforced by the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), Department of Transport Management (DoTM), Department of Immigration (DoI), Department of Land Survey (DoLS), and Department of Land Revenue (DoLR) and the offices under these departments.



Minister for Land Reforms and Management Riddhi Baba Pradhan and Krishna Hari Baskota, secretary at OPCM, launched the charters for DoLR and DoLS on Monday, respectively.



Speaking on the occasion, Baskota said the new provision will speed up service delivery in government offices.
