Govt preparing to ensure free treatment for brain hemorrhage

Speaking at a programme on the 63rd anniversary of Kanti Children's Hospital on Monday, Minister Paudel shared the ministry's recent efforts, noting that the hospital has already started providing free treatment for child cancer.

KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel has said the government is working to ensure free treatment for brain hemorrhages.


Speaking at a programme on the 63rd anniversary of Kanti Children's Hospital on Monday, Minister Paudel shared the ministry's recent efforts, noting that the hospital has already started providing free treatment for child cancer.


Saying that he was aware of the state of physical infrastructure and human resource crisis in Kanti Children's Hospital, Minister Paudel also pledged the best possible assistance from the ministry adding that the hospital was providing quality service amid limited means and resources. "This has earned the hospital a higher level of trust," the health minister shared.

On the occasion, Prof Dr RP Bichchha, a member of the National Planning Commission, suggested that the hospital should be developed into a Children's Health Institute.


Chairman of the Hospital Development Committee, Shreeram Subedi, described the hospital as a national treasure in the field of medicine.


Kanti Children's Hospital, the country's only central and referral children's hospital,  was established in 2019 BS with a 50-bed facility.


Presently, the hospital has 372 beds. The hospital provided health care services to more than 180,000 children in the last fiscal year.
