RATNANAGRr (Chitwan), Aug 11: Chairman of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal  has said the government and the party were seriously thinking about the complaints and concern shown by the general public and lawmakers.

Speaking in a joint press meet organized by Press Chautari Nepal and Press Centre Nepal at Bharatpur airport today, Chairman Dahal, who is also the former Prime Minister, shared that the party was reviewing the government activities to ensure effective service delivery.

People and lawmakers are showing their concerns on the issues of increased taxes in various sectors and the genuine concerns must be addressed, Prachanda added.

He defended that federalism was set up to reach the rights and resources to the local levels.

Chairman Dahal also clarified that he had never said that federalism was in risk due to tax issues but he doubted whether some forces were working out to make the government unpopular in the name of tax increase.

He, however, made it clear that the rising taxes to be collected by federal, provincial and local levels may create a risk to federalism if the issues were not handled properly. The former Prime Minister also said some difficulties were witnessed in the country with the adoption of a new setup.

On another note, Chairman Dahal viewed the activities of the party led by Netra Bikram Chand were unwarranted because there were behind blemishing politics.

Moreover, the Chairman shared that his upcoming visits to China and India will be centered on harmonizing bilateral ties and importing foreign investment for developmental projects in the country.

According to him, the rejection of acting chief justice Dipak Raj Joshee by the parliamentary hearing committee to the post of chief justice has established the parliamentary supremacy.

Speaking in the same press meet, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav said the Ministry was working out to make the health services effective and easily accessible.  RSS
