KATHMANDU, Jan 11: The government is holding talks with Russia, India and the United Arab Emirates to procure COVID-19 vaccines, said Minister for Health and Population, Hridayesh Tripathi.
The government has been holding talks with the ambassadors of these three countries to Nepal to procure COVID-19 vaccine, said Minister Tripathi.
“As COVID-19 vaccines are produced by limited countries, it has become a ‘political commodity’, but the government is committed to procuring vaccines at the earliest,” said Minister Tripathi during a press meet organized at the Ministry of Health and Population, assuring that the government will provide free vaccines to the people.
He also said that 5,000 government employees and 52,000 women volunteers will be mobilized for inoculation. “The government will start an inoculation drive within seven days after procuring the vaccine,” he said.
