KATHMANDU, June 29: With only 15 days left for the completion of the current fiscal year, the government has spent less than a half of the funds allocated for development projects.
As of Friday, the government spent only 48.13 percent of the amount under capital expenditure. The records with the FCGO show that the government spent only Rs 145.39 billion out of Rs 302.07 billion allocated under the heading.
The recurrent expense however has crossed 76 percent of earmarked Rs 1.141 trillion. Similarly, Rs 227.65 billion was spent to pay interest and principal of the public debt.
