KATHMANDU, Aug 22: The federal, provincial and local government bodies have been directed to observe the upcoming Civil Service Day by maintaining adequate health safety. The meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Lokdarshan Regmi has urged the government employees to compulsorily maintain lockdown rules and adopt health safety.


For the announcement of the employees getting the civil service award, a notice will be issued 15 days before the Day. It will also be published on the website of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The Civil Service Day has been marked every year on Bhadra 22 since 2061 BS. 


On the occasion of the day, Gorkhapatra daily will be asked to publish a special edition on the civil service. Even the necessary audio visual materials on the civil service will be prepared and made public via Radio Nepal and Nepal Television. A talk programme on the day will be held on national television. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will be assigned to arrange the publicity.


Moreover, the trade unions and organizations of civil servants will be requested to organize creative programs like essay competitions by maintaining health safety measures in the wake of the increasing threat of coronavirus.


An 11-member subcommittee has also been formed under the coordination of Secretary of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Surya Prasad Gautam, for the coordination of the programmes to be organized on the day.
