Govt employees atop Yala Peak

KATHMANDU, June 29: Twenty government officials, who are preparing for the expedition to Everest next spring, successfully reached the summit of Yala Peak in the Langtang region on Monday morning.



Issuing a press statement, Nepal Mountaineering Training Academy Development Committee said the expedition had started their summit from the western flank of the Yala Peak. Before heading to Langtang Region to climb Yala Peak, the team had participated in a three-day refresher training in Kathmandu.



Nepal Mountaineering Instructors´ Association has been conducting training to the government employees. The team is led by Lilamani Paudel, secretary at the Prime Minister´s Office and Cabinet.



The government employees are preparing to climb Mt Everest next year as a part of promoting the Nepal Tourism Year 2011 campaign.
