Govt doles out Rs 25 million in ‘financial aid’ in a month, Rs 5.5 million spent on President’s treatment alone

KATHMANDU, August 3:  The Government of Nepal has distributed Rs 24.49 million in a single month ( mid-June to mid-July) as 'financial aid'.

KATHMANDU, August 3:  The Government of Nepal has distributed Rs 24.49 million in a single month ( mid-June to mid-July) as 'financial aid'.


According to the Ministry of Finance, between mid-June and mid-July of 2023, an amount of Rs 5.52 million was spent on the treatment of President Ram Chandra Paudel.

According to the decision of the Council of Ministers on June 27, when President Ram Chandra Paudel went to India for a health check-up, his medical bill was footed by the Ministry of Finance through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Between mid-June to mid-July, the family of Bed Prasad Pandey of Bardiya who died  during the Koshi Province naming conflict was provided Rs 1 million in financial aid.


The government has also doled out cash ranging from Rs 100,000 to Rs 500,000 in the name of financial assistance to various other people.
