KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Government has decided to provide a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine to patients of six different types of disease and people above 60 years of age. While avoiding calling it a booster dose, the Ministry of Health and Population has called it just an additional dose of vaccine.

The third dose of vaccine will be provided to the people who have low immunity power to fight against serious diseases like COVID-19, active cancer patients, those who have undergone kidney transplant, people suffering from HIV/AIDS. People receiving immunosuppressive medicines and those above 60 years of age earlier receiving Verocell and Sinopherm vaccines are eligible to receive the third dose of COVID-19 vaccines, according to the latest government decision.
