KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The government has announced a public holiday tomorrow to mourn the death of those killed in the Air Dynasty chopper crash.



An emergency cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar this evening took a decision to this effect.

Emerging from the meeting, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa said all educational institutes, government offices, diplomatic missions will remain closed with a national flag lowered half-mast to mourn the death.


An Air Dynasty chopper crashed near Pathibhara of Taplejung district this afternoon, killing all the seven people including Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari on board.


The ill-fated chopper was flying back to Kathmandu after offering pooja at Pathibhara Temple.
