JANAKPURDHAM, Aug 2: A significant 13-point agreement has been reached between the government negotiation team, led by Home Minister Sudan Gurung, and various Hindu organizations.
According to Prem Prasad Luitel, the chief district officer of Dhanusha, this agreement follows discussions aimed at addressing critical issues related to religious harmony, social peace, and national identity, as presented by the United Hindu Front, which includes addressing the issues put forth by protesting Hindu Samrat Sena.
Similarly, key components of the agreement include a three-month timeline to initiate an all-party discussion regarding the proposal to declare Nepal a Hindu nation.

It also introduces measures to regulate the display of weapons and provocative actions at religious sites, alongside restrictions on the use of loudspeakers and sound amplification devices in places of worship. The agreement emphasizes limited sound use during essential religious activities and mandates the documentation of individuals residing in religious places, particularly foreign nationals.
Furthermore, the agreement stipulates legal action against individuals spreading religious or ethnic hatred on social media and calls for a review of cases involving those arrested after the Dewanganj incident in Sunsari.
It also addresses the healthcare needs of individuals injured during protests and includes provisions for investigating the Nepali citizenship distribution process as well. The agreement ensures the safety of protest participants and outlines legal procedures for foreign nationals, while also establishing financial oversight for resources received from madrasahs.
Home Minister Gurung, Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Government Krishna Prasad Yadav, Finance Minister Yuvraj Bhattarai, Home Minister Fakira Mahato, Member of the House of Representatives Manish Jha, Chief of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City Manoj Kumar Sah and representatives of Hindu organizations including Hindu Samrat Sena participated in the talks.
