On Saturday night, the government had signed a 13-point agreement with various Hindu organizations at the assembly hall of the District Administration Office.
However, the HSS expressed dissatisfaction, saying no separate agreement had been reached with the organization. This led to another round of negotiations.
HSS President Rajesh Sanatani said the concerns over the wording of the previous agreement had been addressed by adding six more points to the 13-point agreement reached on Saturday. According to him, Home Minister Gurung also committed to taking steps to abolish all religious and community-based organizations and to push for the restoration of Nepal as a Hindu state.
Following the agreement, the Hindu organizations called off their protests.
Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Ram Binod Yadav, Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luitel, Senior Superintendent of Police Bhuwaneshwor Tiwari and Dhanusha Police Chief Rupesh Khadka also participated in the talks held at Hotel Yatri Niwas.
