Government gears up to mark Constitution Day

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The government has started preparations to observe the fifth Constitution Day by organizing various programs throughout the country.


The meeting held in Singhadurbar on Wednesday urged one and all to mark the Constitution Day as a grand festival. The meeting also urged all government agencies to actively work to celebrate the Constitution Day with grand celebrations.

Moreover, the meeting requested all civil servants to participate in the upcoming Constitution Day. A special ceremony will be organized at Army Pavilion, Tundikhel to mark the day which falls on September 20.


The ceremony will be attended by President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur, PM KP Oli, Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Timalsina, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, chiefs of constitutional bodies, ministers, leaders representing various political parties, chiefs of security bodies, civil servants and others.


A rally will be organized for civil servants at all levels on September 20. Speaking at the meeting, Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai shared that various programs will be held on the auspicious occasion of the Constitution Day.
