Golden Gate, Trinity enter final

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Defending champions Golden Gate and Trinity advanced into the final of the Republica Sixth Fr Watrin Men´s Basketball Tournament on Wednesday. Both the teams won their respective matches to secure berths for the final match to be held at the Saint Xavier´s School, Jawlakhel, on Thursday.[break]



Golden Gate thrashed Pentagon 104-60 during the first semifinal match.



Thiugh Golden Gate were well ahead in the first quarter with 31-8 points Pentagon made a comeback in the second quarter with 19-18. Golden Gate took 26-20 lead again in the third quarter while they were far ahead of their opponents 28-14 in the last quarter to seal victory.



Although Golden Gate won the match, Pentagon´s Joe was the highest scorer with 26 points.



In the other semifinal match, Trinity edged out Revolvers 93-70. Trinity dominated the first two quarters of the match 33-19 and 31-14.



Revolvers won the last two quarters 15-17 and 14-20 but their score was not enough to beat their opponents. Wisdom Pandey of Trinity was the highest scorer of the match with 29 points.
