Golden Gate, Patan win

KATHMANDU, June 24: Golden Gate and Patan Multiple College won their respective matches on Thursday in the Fourth Wai Wai Vice Chancellor Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.



Golden Gate thrashed Apex by nine wickets in their first match and Patan defeated Public Youth by 11 runs to register consolation win.



Electing to bat first, Apex made 98\\\\9 in the rain hit match reduced to 19 overs. Chasing the revised target of 72 runs from 12 overs as per the parabola formula, Golden Gate achieved it in 6.4 overs losing one wicket.



The-man-of-the-match adjudged Paresh Lohani of Golden Gate top scored with 43 off 21 remaining undefeated and Sanjay Shrestha hit 15. Dipendra Chaudhary was unbeaten for six.



Earlier, Janak Singh (23), Sandesh Katwal (17) and Bhaibav Chand (15) were the only batsmen for Apex to score double figure. Paresh Khadka of Golden Gate claimed two wickets. Patan having already crashed out from the group stage accumulated 118/10 in 20 overs and bowled out Public Youth 107/8. Man-of-the-match declared Kamal Soni and Shankar Yadav hauled three Public Youth wickets. The tournament is organized by Tribhuvan Univirsity, Kirtipur.
