KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The price of gold has increased to an all-time high in the domestic market on the occasion of Dhanteras today.
Compared to the previous day, the price of gold has risen by Rs 1,500 per tola. On Tuesday, the trading price of gold has been set at Rs 168,500 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Associations.
Price of gold reaches Rs 92,500 per tola
On Monday, the price of gold decreased by Rs 400 per tola, trading at Rs 167,000 per tola.
The price of silver has also increased. On Tuesday, silver price rose by Rs 40 per tola, reaching Rs 2,105 per tola. On Monday, silver price had decreased by Rs 20 per tola, trading at Rs 2,065 per tola.
In previous years, there used to be significant trading of gold and silver on this day. However, this year gold and silver prices have set new records, with traders reporting that the volume of transactions is expected to be lower.
The price of gold in the international market that had been declining has started to rise again. On Tuesday, gold reached $2,756.14 per ounce. Silver is priced at $33.93 per ounce. On Monday, gold was trading at $2,733.24 per ounce and silver at $33.33 per ounce.
