Global College International hosts 7th Inter A-Levels speech competition on International Human Rights Day

KATHMANDU, Dec 11: Global College International hosted the 7th Inter A-Levels Speech Competition on International Human Rights Day in Kathmandu on Sunday. The event aimed to celebrate International Human Rights Day by promoting the theme "Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All."

KATHMANDU, Dec 11: Global College International hosted the 7th Inter A-Levels Speech Competition on International Human Rights Day in Kathmandu on Sunday. The event aimed to celebrate International Human Rights Day by promoting the theme "Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All."


According to a statement issued by the college, the event focused on fostering a strong bond among A -Levels colleges through student participation, bringing together 22 participants from 11 different A Levels colleges in Kathmandu. The event showcased the eloquence and passion of A-Levels students addressing critical issues related to human rights and social justice. Dr Siddhartha Dhungana, Assistant Professor at the School of Education, Kathmandu University (KU), served as the Chief Guest, adding an academic touch to the occasion and emphasizing the importance of education in promoting human rights.

The competition was evaluated by a panel of judges, including Sangita Sapkota (Visiting Faculty, Kathmandu University), Kosh Raj Koirala (Editor, Republica Daily), and Janak Paudel (Faculty, Department of English, Tribhuvan University (TU)). The diverse background and expertise of the judges ensured a comprehensive evaluation of the participants' speeches, as mentioned in the statement issued by the organizer.


The statement further reads, “Out of the 22 participants from different A-Levels colleges, Minerva Karki of Rato Bangala School secured the first prize, while Sapphire Shakya of Global College International and Prizma Sitaula of Chelsea International Academy secured the second and third positions, respectively. The winners not only demonstrated mastery of the theme but also showcased their ability to articulate thoughts on human rights, dignity, freedom, and justice.”
