Glass panel detaches from emergency exit door on Tara aircraft bound for Lukla

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: The glass panel of the emergency door of a Tara Air cargo aircraft which was en route to Lukla from Kathmandu was found to have fallen on the way.

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: The glass panel of the emergency door of a Tara Air cargo aircraft which was en route to Lukla from Kathmandu was found to have fallen on the way.


The spokesperson for the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Subas Jha, said that the Tara Air plane with the call sign 9N-ALO was on its way from Kathmandu to Lukla at 9:31 in the morning.

He said that the aircraft landed safely. He said that there were two passengers on board and they were unharmed.


Jha said, “It was found that the glass panel of the emergency door of the cargo aircraft of Tara Air, which flew from Kathmandu to Lukla, had fallen. After the plane landed and the pilot parked it, it was found that the glass panel of the emergency door had fallen. That sometimes happens with cargo aircraft.”


The aircraft had been loaded with 1126 kg of goods before taking off from Kathmandu.
