TAPLEJUNG, Sept 28: Pushpa Limbu, 18, who was found dead on Friday, was killed in a premeditated manner, according to the police.

According to Taplejung Police Chief and Deputy Superintendent of Police Bal Narasingh Rana, Ram Karki, a tractor driver of Fungling Municipality-10, was arrested on the charge of murder on Sunday. Rana informs Republica that Karki has confessed to killing Pushpa in his statement.

“His statement during the preliminary investigation shows that it was a premeditated murder,” said Rana.

According to Karki’ statement, he had a love affair with Pushpa for the past nine months. When asked for marriage, she rejected the marriage proposal and they had a fight. Karki said that he hit her on the head with a stone after the dispute and then forcibly poisoned her and pushed her down a cliff.

Pushpa Tabebung (Limbu) was studying in class 11 at Bhanujan Secondary School in Faktanglung Municipality-3. Her body was found 25 feet below a foot trail between Charpate in Fungling Municipality-7 and Fungling Bazaar.
