Getting passion into the fields: Classico Futsal Tournament

LALITPUR


Classico Organizing Committee organized a football tournament titled ‘Classico Futsal Tournament’ on July 6 and July 7 at National Sports Centre Chysal, Lalitpur.


Based on the knockout system, a total of 18 teams played against each other for the winning title. Players studying in Bachelors 1st year were seen actively participating in the match.

“Football is not just a game but the way players express their passion. I am really glad with my students, the organizers—Abin Ghimire and Dipesh Bariya for letting me be a part this competition,” said Prajwol Pratap Chetteri, the chief guest of the program. The tournament began with the chief guest N D Rai and Prajwol Pratap Chetteri jointly lighting the lamp and kicking the ball.


The prize distribution took place on the same day as the finals and the chief guest awarded the winning two teams with medals and as per allocated Team United bagged the first place with Rs 10, 000 and Team Town Planning won second place and received Rs 5, 000.


“The main motto of this tournament was to bring out the passion of youngsters like us to the field. Since, youths have always been said as the potential builders of nation, we tried our best to make contributions out of our passion,” said Abin Ghimire, one of the organizers.


The committee is likely to organize another similar tournament very soon.
