KATHMANDU, Dec 8: The Gen-Z activist Miraj Dhungana, who has been demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki, is set to launch a satyagraha protest.
Claiming the government has shown “no willingness” to address issues such as corruption control, the Dhungana-led faction plans to begin its satyagraha within this week. The protest is also expected to receive support from Durga Prasai’s “Nation and Nationality Protection Campaign,” though Prasai has not yet issued an official statement. His group had previously withdrawn its protests on August 23 following an agreement with the government.

The group also accused the government for unjustly barring them from entering Singha Durbar and Baluwatar, prompting the decision to escalate its movement and intensify calls for the prime minister’s resignation.
Dhungana and his supporters have also insisted that the national elections scheduled for Falgun 21 are unlikely to be feasible under the current circumstances.
