KATHMANDU, June 20: Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has confirmed that GB Rai, who faces accusations of involvement in over a dozen co-operative fraud cases, has been located in Malaysia.
Speaking to journalists during a visit to Bharatpur for the test flight of Shree Airlines, Lamichhane said that Rai has been located and efforts are underway to bring him back to Nepal. Lamichhane said that the information about Rai's presence in Malaysia is reliable.
Lamichhane yet to vacate ministerial residence
"We know where he is," said Home Minister Lamichhane, "I have also communicated with the Malaysian Home Minister regarding this matter."
Lamichhane, who served as the managing director of Galaxy TV while Rai was its chairman, has also faced criticism in connection with the co-operative fraud cases alongside Rai.
