Nepal Swimming Association President Ashok Bajracharya made such announcement during a program organized by the Shanti Education Initiative Nepal to appoint Gaurika, 17, its goodwill brand ambassador on Sunday.
Gaurika and Kiran were selected based on the points accumulated during the event. FWSC is scheduled for July 28-8 August in Russia. Swimmers from around the globe will vie for qualification for the Rio Olympics next year from the FWSC.
Four Nepali swimmers will represent Nepal in FWSC. Sirish Gurung and Sofia Shah, who are currently training for the tournament in Thailand, have already qualified.
Meanwhile, International Swimming Federation has donated US$ 25,000 to help Nepal Swimming Association construct its own swimming pool equipped with heating system. The donation was made after the devastating earthquake damaged swimming pools at different parts of the country, leaving players without a training pool.
