Those arrested have been identified as Kiran Ruchal, 26, of Tansen-7 in Palpa, Madan Kumar Shrestha, 58, of Taksar-4 in Bhojpur and Sudip Pahadi, 21, of Hatpatte-9 in Sindhuli. [break]
According to the Police, the gang had looted gold and silver jewelries along with Rs 700,000 in cash on January 29 from the house of Deepak Basnet in Madhyapur Thimi-16.
Similarly, the same gang was also involved in robbing gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 800,000 on March 4 from the house of Renu Rauniyar of Madhyapur Thimi-16.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the culprits used to do follow similar methods in carrying out the robberies. The police have also arrested Shankha Raj Shakya from Inacho-6, Bhaktapur on the charge buying the stolen jewelries from the robbers.
