KATHMANDU, Nov 22: The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs’ Association of Nepal (FWEAN), in collaboration with NEPCO Entertainment, is set to organize the ‘Made in Nepal Expo 2024’ in Melbourne, Australia.

FWEAN will act as a co-organizer for the event, which will be held at 495 Lygon St, Brunswick East VIC 3057, Melbourne, on December 14 and 15, 2024, from 10 AM to 5 PM local time.

Addressing a press conference organized in the capital on Friday, FWEAN President Shova Gyawali highlighted that this is the first time FWEAN will co-organize an international-level exhibition. The fair will showcase and sell goods and services produced using Nepali raw materials, local skills, and technology.

Products on display will include handicrafts, agricultural goods, educational materials, tourism-related items, food products, and other cultural items created by Nepali entrepreneurs.  “We believe that participation in this fair will provide excellent opportunities for Nepali entrepreneurs to establish business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) connections,” said Gyawali.

The event is expected to attract individuals from various sectors, including education, tourism, and business. It aims to promote international tourism in Nepal and encourage foreign businessmen and investors to explore opportunities in Nepal’s industries. “We are confident that this fair will play a crucial role in the social and economic development of Nepal,” President Gyawali further said.

The fair will also provide Nepali entrepreneurs with access to international markets, offering long-term opportunities for the sale and distribution of their products. Nepali businesses, which largely operate as micro, household, small, and medium enterprises, often face challenges in reaching global markets. To address this, plans are being made to establish a permanent sales booth in Melbourne.

The FWEAN’s initiative aims to serve as a bridge for Nepali entrepreneurs to access international markets. “We call on all entrepreneurs to support and collaborate in making this fair a grand success,” added Gyawali.
