‘Made in Nepal Expo’ starts in Melbourne, Australia

The "Made in Nepal Expo" started in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday. The expo was inaugurated with the aim of promoting Nepali products in the international market, under the chairmanship of Shobha Gyawali, President of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN).

Efforts to bring Nepali products to international market


KATHMANDU, Dec 14: The "Made in Nepal Expo" started in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday. The expo was inaugurated with the aim of promoting Nepali products in the international market, under the chairmanship of Shobha Gyawali, President of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN).


The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Pradeep Tiwari, Mayor of Maribyrnong City, Merri-Bek City Councillor Sue Bolton, Acting Mayor of Dhorpatan Municipality Dhan Bahadur Kayat, former President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Shesh Ghale, entrepreneur Jamuna Ghale, among others.

Speaking at the event, Mayor Tiwari expressed his commitment to supporting the FWEAN. He mentioned that he would provide necessary assistance, including venue management and other support for the event, and highlighted that products from Nepal are of excellent quality.


Councillor Bolton also mentioned that Australia has great affection for Nepal and expressed her support for such events in the future.


Former NRNA president Ghale emphasized how Nepali products can be taken to the international market. He pointed out the need to make such exhibitions in Australia more effective.


FWEAN President Gyawali stated that the expo holds historical significance as the federation's first international co-organized event. She emphasized the need to use art, education, and culture as mediums to bring Nepali products to the global market.


The expo showcases and promotes handicrafts, agriculture, clothing, education, tourism, food products, and cultural products created by Nepali entrepreneurs, with items available for display and sale. The expo will run until Sunday.


This initiative to bring Nepali products and culture to the world is being carried out in collaboration between the FWEAN and Nepco Entertainment.
