KATHMANDU,Nov 15: The interplay of varied melodies grooved the crowd at Alpas Restaurant, Lazimpat on Tuesday evening as You Tubers Fairooz Nazifa from Bangladesh and Kelsang Shrestha from Nepal performed live.

Both the artists performed solo and duet numbers of Elvis Paisley, Amy Winehouse, John Mayer, among others. 21-year-old Nazifa introduced newer versions to the original music with her ukulele. While, 16-year-old Shrestha played some of his own compositions like ‘Bijulidai’ and ‘Taswir ma’ to kick-start the music session. 

“Although I have been dedicated to music and composition for the past two years now, I am delighted to have my first performance collaborating with Nazifa. After a few hours of rehearsing, we came up with all these duet numbers and I am glad everything went much better than our expectations,” said Shrestha.

The musical event saw a variety of national and international music lovers. Lucie Deptova, a Czech Republic national expressing her love for music said, “Both of them performed well. However, I really liked the strong voice of the female artist. The acoustic could have tuned well for much better music but I feel great to listen to such young artists”.

“I am happy to see young talent being recognized and appreciated. I hope we are able to host such talents in future,” said Chewan Rai, Co-owner of Alpas Restaurant and host of the musical evening.
