KATHMANDU, April 17 : Khasti Newa Pucha is organizing Kathmandu-Pokhara Peace Rally from April 21-26 to celebrate 2559th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha and New Year 2072.

The event -- a road race -- is being organized with a view to promote and raise funds for the preservation of Pokhara's Vishwa Shanti Stupa, which is under erosion-threat after a landslide in the area.
Puch's leader Shangha Ratna Shakya, said that the six day road race will be participated by eight athletes including South Asia's record holder marathon runner Baikuntha runner.
Shakya further informed that the organization has already collected Rs 200,000 to donate for the Stupa and they have expected to collect more fund for the purpose. The expected cost for road race is Rs 250,000.
