KATHMANDU, May 31: A meeting of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) on Thursday asked party Chairman Upendra Yadav to finalize the names of three ministers to represent the party in Prime Minister KP Oli’s cabinet.
The party earlier this week signed a two-point agreement with the Nepal Communist Party agreeing to join the government with three ministerial portfolios including a post of state minister. The party is expected to get the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Urban Development and a state minister portfolio which remains to be finalized.
FSFN participation in govt uncertain
Leaders said that the party is preparing to join the government under Yadav’s leadership. But the party has not been able to finalize a minister and the deputy ministerial portfolio due to several aspirants.
Rajendra Shrestha, Renu Kumari Yadav, Mohammed Istiyak Rai, Pradeep Yadav and Ram Sahaya Yadav have been seen as potential contenders for the remaining two portfolios. Shrestha told Republica that party would finalize the name by Thursday evening.
