KATHMANDU, June 14: The 'First Literary Friendly Football Match' will take place on Saturday pitching prominent litterateurs and literary figures against each other for the first time in Nepali history.
The competition organized by Shashank, a magazine on culture, literature and art, will take place at the National Police Academy. Around 50 litterateurs will participate in the two rival teams.

The event will be participated by Nepal Academy Chancellor, Ganga Prasad Upreti, Vice Chancellor, Dr Bishnu Bibhu Ghimire, Member Secretary, Prof Dr Jibendra Dev Giri, Satya Mohan Joshi, Ram Bahadur Pahadi, Prof Dr Basudev Tripathi, Prof Dr Gargi Sharma, Maya Thakuri, Bairagi Kainla, Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani, Harihar Khanal, Usha Sherchan, Purna Biram, Saru Bhakta, Dr Bijaya Subba, Narendra Bahadur Shrestha, Prahlad Pokharel, Sri Om Rodan, Dinanath Sharma, Prof Dr Ramesh Chandra Adhikari, Sharada Sharma, Prabha Bhattarai, Radheshyam Lekali and Sulochana Manandhar among others.
Shashank's Editor and Publisher and Programme Coordinator, Umesh Pandey, said the event was being held for upgrading Nepali literature, promoting relations between litterateurs, readers and the public, and also for sake of entertainment. RSS
