KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The fourth Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) was concluded last week.
Founded in 1997, BIMSTEC is an international organization of seven countries of South Asia and South East Asia that include India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and South East Asian countries Thailand and Myanmar as members.
The forth BIMSTEC summit, in the words of government officials, was concluded successfully.
What is the reality? Most importantly, what did Nepal achieve from the summit that cost it over Rs 2 billion.
What are the differences between SAARC summit held four years ago and BIMSTEC summit held recently?
