Four theft suspects flee from police custody

KATHMANDU, Sep 18: Four persons, who were taken into custody on the suspicion of theft, escaped from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, today morning.

KATHMANDU, Sep 18: Four persons, who were taken into custody on the suspicion of theft, escaped from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, today morning.



They were arrested from Kalimati area, and were kept in custody for further investigation.

“Those escaping from the Circle are Anil Jaiswal, Anshu Jaiswal, Suhit Gupta, and Rabindra Agrawal,” said Superintendent of Police Somendra Singh Rathaur, who is the spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku.


“They [suspects] fled from custody, while the duty officer was asleep. They absconded from custody with handcuffs,” he said. 


Police have launched search operations to nab the absconding suspects, he said.
