Four bogus clinics shut down

BHAIRAWA, Aug 14 : A team of Rupandehi District Monitoring Committee on Wednesday raided and shut down four bogus dental clinics in Butwal, and arrested one of the operators.



The committee has also shut down the clinic, Nepal Dental Lab and Instrument Supplier, after recovering that the clinic was run under false certifications.

The arrested operator of the clinic, Jitendra Singh, was running the clinic at Haat bazaar line of Butwal municipality with a forged certificate for all these years.

“During our investigation, we found out that Singh was faking the locals by showing a counterfeit certificated of dental surgery. His medical certificated was made from Panjab in India,” said Coordinator of the committee, Ram Bahadur Kurungwang. [break]



The committee has also sealed three more bogus dental clinics in the same area. The clinics have been identified as Kantipur Dental Clinic, The Dental Home and Dhaulagiri Dental Clinic.

“All three clinics were operating without fulfilling the basic registration pre-requisites,” said Kurungwang.

A team comprising officials from Rupandehi District Public Health Office, District Development Office and Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rupandehi branch had monitored all the clinics.
