KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Former Prime Minister Kirti Nidhi Bista has passed away on Saturday. He was 90.
Bista passed away at his own Gyaneshwore-based resident, according to his son Binod Bista. His health condition was reported to be deteriorating since few days.
Born in January 15, 1927 in Thamel, Kathmandu, Bista served as the Prime Minister of the country for three times during Panchayat system from 1969-1970, 1971-1973 and 1977-1979. After the coup d'état of former King Gyanendra in 2005, Bista was appointed one of the vice-chairmen until the government collapsed in April 2006 after the people's uprising.
According to the family source, Bista will be cremated on Saturday itself at Pashupati Aaryaghat.
