Former Nepal skipper alleges irregularity in cricket selection

NEPALGUNJ, May 25: Nepal´s former cricket captain L B Chhetri says that the Nepal Cricket Association committed irregularities when selecting players for the upcoming ACC Women´s Twenty20 cricket championship to be held in Malaysia between July 1 to July 12.



Chhetri launched his protest after 3 players from Nepalgunj who have played for Nepal in two previous international tournaments were dropped from the national squad this time around.



The players are Trishna Singh, Mamata Singh and Sita Rana Magar, who played for Nepal in the ACC Women´s Cricket Tournament in 2006 in Malaysia and in 2008 in Thailand. Altogether, 5 players have been selected from Nepalgunj to participate in this year´s tournament.
