ILAM, Jan 17: On the ninth day of Dr. Govinda KC's fast-unto-death hunger strike, former vice chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, former chief justice Sushila Karki, former speaker, Damannath Dhungana and activist Dr. Abhishek Raj Singh are leaving for Ilam to express solidarity with Dr. KC.
"We hope our attempt will help to find an outlet and are looking forward to the government's support," Dr. Singh wrote on social media.
The four-member team will meet Dr. KC at 3 PM and organize a press meet. Mathema has also expressed his dissatisfaction over the approved Medical Education Bill.
Meanwhile, Dr. KC's health is deteriorating. A team of specialists said that Dr. KC needed to be transferred to an intensive care unit immediately. However, KC said that he'd not leave Ilam. After KC declined treatment, doctors are taking care of his health by using normal saline water, antibiotics, and oxygen.
