ILAM, Jan 17: On the ninth day of Dr. Govinda KC's fast-unto-death hunger strike, former vice chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, former chief justice Sushila Karki, former speaker, Damannath Dhungana and activist Dr. Abhishek Raj Singh are leaving for Ilam to express solidarity with Dr. KC.

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Miffed at the government's repeated failure to implement the agreements reached with him on various issues related to medical education reforms, Dr Govinda KC has decided to launch a fresh hunger strike if his ultimatum to implement the deals is ignored.Close aides of Dr KC, senior orthopedic surgeon and professor at the Institute of Medicine (IOM), said he will stage his 16th hunger strike if the past deals reached with him are not implemented within a three-week deadline.
KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Dr Govinda KC, who had ended his 15th fast-unto-death on the 27th day on July 26, has threatened to start yet another round of hunger strike citing 'government apathy toward implementing the agreements reached with him' at the time of ending the last strike.
