Forex update: US dollar remains at record high against Nepali rupee

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the buying rate for one US dollar stands at Rs 151.56, while the selling rate is Rs 152.16 — the highest selling rate recorded so far.

KATHMANDU, May 3: The US dollar continued to trade at a record high against the Nepali rupee on Sunday, with the selling rate remaining steady at Rs 152.16 since Friday.



According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the buying rate for one US dollar stands at Rs 151.56, while the selling rate is Rs 152.16 — the highest selling rate recorded so far.


The euro is being exchanged at Rs 178.16 for buying and Rs 178.86 for selling, while the British pound sterling is trading at Rs 206.39 for buying and Rs 207.21 for selling.

Similarly, the Swiss franc is valued at Rs 194.28 for buying and Rs 195.05 for selling. The Australian dollar is being traded at Rs 109.09 for buying and Rs 109.52 for selling, while the Canadian dollar stands at Rs 111.74 for buying and Rs 112.18 for selling.


The Singapore dollar has been fixed at Rs 119.09 for buying and Rs 119.57 for selling. Likewise, 10 Japanese yen are being exchanged at Rs 9.68 for buying and Rs 9.72 for selling.


Among Asian and Gulf currencies, the Chinese yuan is trading at Rs 22.20 for buying and Rs 22.28 for selling, while the Saudi riyal stands at Rs 40.41 and Rs 40.57 respectively. The Qatari riyal is valued at Rs 41.59 for buying and Rs 41.76 for selling.


The Thai baht is being exchanged at Rs 4.66 for buying and Rs 4.67 for selling, while the UAE dirham is trading at Rs 41.26 for buying and Rs 41.43 for selling. The Malaysian ringgit stands at Rs 38.18 for buying and Rs 38.33 for selling.


Meanwhile, 100 South Korean won are being exchanged at Rs 10.29 for buying and Rs 10.33 for selling. The Swedish krona is trading at Rs 16.42 for buying and Rs 16.48 for selling, while the Danish krone stands at Rs 23.84 for buying and Rs 23.94 for selling.


The Hong Kong dollar is valued at Rs 19.34 for buying and Rs 19.42 for selling. Among the highest-valued currencies, the Kuwaiti dinar is trading at Rs 494.08 for buying and Rs 496.04 for selling, the Bahraini dinar at Rs 401.35 and Rs 402.94, and the Omani riyal at Rs 393.64 for buying and Rs 395.20 for selling.
