CHITWAN, April 21: A security patrol of Chitwan National Park (CNP) and poachers engaged in a clash on Wednesday.
According to chief conservation officer Narendra Babu Pradhan, the clash ensued after poachers armed with traditional weapons like swords and spears attacked the security patrol.

At least three park officials were injured in the clash. Those injured are ranger Madhav Khadka, game scout Jogendra Raut and a non-gazette officer Lawa Jung Thapa.
Eyewitnesses said some poachers were also injured.
Local police has arrested 26 persons in connection with the incident. Officials said they were arrested as per the tip off given by the four poachers who were arrested on Tuesday afternoon with eight home made guns.
