Foreign minister to travel to the UK for King Charles III's coronation

KATHMANDU, April 30:  Minister for Foreign Affairs, NP Saud is going to Britain to participate in the coronation ceremony of King Charles III of Britain. Initially, President Ramchandra Paudel was scheduled to attend the coronation ceremony. However, since President Paudel could not go due to health reasons, the government is going to send Foreign Minister Saud to Britain.

After Paudel could not go, the visit of the head of state of Nepal to Britain, which was to take place after 20 years, was postponed. Foreign Minister Saud said that he has decided to go to participate in the coronation ceremony of King Charles III of Britain.

The coronation ceremony will be held in London's Westminster Cathedral on May 6 (Baishakh 23). The foreign minister will go to London on May 4 and return on May 7. President Paudel is returning to Nepal on Sunday after undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India.

Coronation ceremonies have been taking place in Westminster Abbey since 1066.

Camilla, who received the title of 'Queen Consort' at the coronation ceremony of King Charles, who assumed the throne after the death of Queen Elizabeth II last September, will also wear the crown of Queen Mary. The then foreign minister Narayan Khadka was sent from Nepal to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
