KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana met with Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, the UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, in Muscat, the capital of Oman on Sunday on the sidelines of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference.
They discussed bilateral relations between Nepal and the UAE, along with various topics related to labor, tourism, economic development, and the cooperation needed to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Minister Rana expressed her gratitude to the UAE government through Minister Al Sayegh for providing employment opportunities to Nepali workers. In response, Minister Al Sayegh praised the significant contribution of Nepali manpower to the economic and social development of the UAE.
They discussed potential cooperation and investment opportunities in tourism, economic development, and trade partnerships between the two countries.
Minister Rana requested Minister Al Sayegh to start direct flights from Dubai to Nepal's Pokhara International Airport. In response, Minister Al Sayegh committed to beginning technical studies on the matter immediately and moving forward with plans to launch the flights.
During the meeting, Minister Rana informed Minister Al Sayegh that Nepal will host the Sagarmatha Dialogue in Kathmandu this May, which will serve as a global platform for discussing serious regional and global issues. She invited the UAE to participate in the dialogue, which will focus on climate change.
