Football academy in the offing

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: Koteshwor United Club (KUC) will set up a football academy in collaboration with Seti Opi Youth Club (SOYC), it was announced Sunday amid a press meet organized by the club.



The club, which aims to hone skills of the players, will organize ´Dashain Mahotsav´ on October 8, to heave finance for the academy. [break]´Mahotsav´ includes music concert, where renowned bands will perform live music.



"Players will be selected by organizing tournament at college and school-level within the ward no 35 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City after Dasain," President Karki said, answering a query.



"We´re trying to coordinate with ANFA for the placement of players in other clubs through a reasonable deal."



Unveiling the plan, he said that for the time being, it´ll run as training center and then as academy. The club, however, has no plans to participate in any tournament.

 

Saraswati Yuwa Club (SYC) and Samajik Yewa Club are two league teams already playing in the area. The club will coordinate with these clubs as well, Karki said.

Gorkha Brewery will be the official sponsor, while Pashupati Tradelink (Karbon Moblie) and Bottlers Nepal will be the co-sponsors.
