KATHMANDU, Jan 1: A layer of fog and mist has blanketed most parts of the Terai region since this morning. This weather condition is attributed to the partial influence of western winds in Nepal, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

According to the MFD, the weather in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces remains generally clear, while other regions experience generally clear conditions with foggy atmospheres in most Terai locations. Later today, partial showers are expected in the hilly areas, with a possibility of light snowfall in select high hill and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

The hilly areas are forecasted to be partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience clear conditions tonight, with a potential for light snowfall in specific high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

The hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to be partly cloudy tomorrow, while the rest of the region will remain generally clear. Light snowfall may occur in isolated spots within the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

The weather is projected to be generally clear in the remaining hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces tomorrow night, with a likelihood of light snowfall in select high hills and Himalayan regions.

Wednesday afternoon is anticipated to bring generally clear conditions to the hilly areas, with a possibility of light snowfall in specific high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

As Wednesday night unfolds, the weather is expected to be generally clear in the remaining hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, with a potential for light snowfall in isolated locations in the high hills and Himalayan areas.

In light of the forecast, the MFD advises residents in the hilly regions to take necessary precautions against the partial rain and potential cold due to light snowfall in the highlands and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as morning dew and fog in the plains.
