KATHMANDU, Jan 15: There is a possibility of light rain in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki regions of the country today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is currently a partial influence of western winds in Nepal. “The low pressure system currently around the southern part of Bangladesh has a partial effect,” MFD said.

The weather is currently partly cloudy in the hilly areas of the country, while most of the places in the plains are cloudy and foggy.

According to the MFD, the weather will be mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country this afternoon, while the remaining areas will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of light snowfall in a few places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Similarly, tonight the weather will be mostly clear over hilly parts of the country with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of light snowfall in a few places in the high hills and mountainous regions of the country.

The MFD has warned that there is a possibility of light snowfall at a few places in the highlands and mountainous area of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and one or two places in the highlands and mountains of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces. It has also urged everyone to avoid possible risks as there is fog in the Terai region.
