FNJ's Morning Rally

KATHMANDU, March 30: The umbrella organization of Nepali journalists, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), organized a morning rally as part of the programmes to mark its 60th anniversary.

The rally emanated from Exhibition Road went to Bhadrakali Temple, Martyrs Gate, New Road and converged into a gathering at the Peace Garden of Ratnapark.


Various affiliates including Nepal Sports Journalists' Forum carried their banners at the rally.

Addressing the gathering, FNJ Chairman Dr Mahendra Bista said the FNJ was devoted to the protection of rights of journalists for the sake of freedom of expression.

Similarly, Chairman of the Press Council Nepal, Borna Bahadur Karki, urged the journalists to work responsibly as the country was undergoing political transition.

Former Chairman of the FNJ, Hom Nath Dahal, said the media could play a significant role on institutionalizing the achievements of the political movements and promulgation of the new constitution.

The rally was also attended by senior journalists including Chairman of the National News Agency (RSS), Kul Chandra Wagle. RSS
