KATHMANDU, May 9: Federation of Nepalese Journalist (FNJ) has expressed its deep concern over threaten to Senior Journalist and Editor in Chief of the Annapurna Post National Daily Yub Raj Ghimire by an Indian Embassy officer in Nepal.

According to Ghimire, Spokesperson at the Indian Embassy in Nepal Abhaya Kumar threatened him over a news that was published in the Annapurna National Daily. Kumar also blamed Ghimire of following yellow journalism.

It is shameful to threaten any journalist and is beyond the ethics of the whole journalism sector at a time Nepali medias have been struggling hard to carry out the news about the natural disaster that rocked the country in April 25, reads the statement by FNJ.

"If there were any comments over the published news, embassy could have solved it through diplomatic channels. This is personal defemation and is violation of the press freedom", reads the statement.
