POKHARA, March 23: The ongoing ninth general assembly of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) is holding on Saturday deliberation over the financial report presented by FJC Treasurer Shital Shah.

The assembly was briefly interrupted today after delegates objected to the presentation of the report over a procedural lapse. Technically, the report had to be presented after finishing deliberation on the general secretary’s report. The discussion has, however, resumed.

Acting Chief Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma, a day earlier, inaugurated the two-day assembly being attended by over 1,000 delegates from across the country. The conclave is discussing issues including the implementation of working journalists act, statute amendment and overall situation of press freedom in the country.
