Citing unrest in Tarai districts, they argued that business firms and industries were not in a position to make quarterly instalment payments in time.

The delegation led by FNCCI President Pashupati Murarka urged the central bank to extend the quarterly repayment deadline from mid-October to mid-January next year.

Responding to the demand, Governor Nepal said that the central bank was closely studying the problems faced by the private sector and pledged to extend all possible help.
