FM Rana departs for Oman to participate in the Indian Ocean Conference

Minister Rana is also scheduled to hold a virtual meeting with Nepali ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions working in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries in Muscat. She is scheduled to return home on February 20.

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has left for Oman on Friday. She is leading a four-member Nepali delegation to participate in the 8th Indian Ocean Conference being held in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The conference will be held from February 14 to February 20.


Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and foreign ministry officials bid farewell to her at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Rana is scheduled to attend the conference at the invitation of Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi. Minister Rana will be representing Nepal in the conference, which has the main theme of Voyage to New Horizons of Maritime Partnership.


Minister Dr Rana will also address the session on Amplifying the Voice of the Global South at this conference.


During this visit, Minister Dr Rana will hold bilateral meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Energy and Minerals, and representatives of other relevant ministries.
